We decided not to move, but our kitchen needs help.

Some friends who are retiring, have decided they simply love their neighborhood.   After considering moving into a condo,  they realize that their house,  the neighbors, and the old neighborhood is ......pretty nice.

Except the new Kitchen in that Condo was really nice... and their Kitchen is ....   well lets just say they have dreams for their Kitchen.

  • New Cabinet Doors and
  • Soft Close Hinges
  • Soft Close Drawer slides Hidden under the drawers
  • Granite Counter tops
  • Updated Potlights for spacial light
  • Under cabinet lighting behind a bottom valance
  • New style pendant lights to replace the old ceiling ultraviolet light bars
  • Dimmer Switches to control the volume of light in the late evening

Or how about an
  • Under mounted Stainless Square Deep sink
  • And a new Faucet  with extendable spout , and a Ceramic Lifetime Cartridge
Or.. Perhaps remove the  Old ceramic back splash and replace with a
  • Glass Back splash -Random mosaic in Vogue White.

The Old Kitchen - Inspiring Dreams
The way it was
  • Oak Handles on White Melamine -
  • Hard Closing Hinges
  • Cabinet Doors that fall 1" short of the top
  • Spaces between the drawers to grab the handles
(oh sweet memories of childhood)

  • Grey Laminate counter tops
  • Maple top island with a brushed Polyurethane cutting board

The Transformed Kitchen

"We can't believe this is the same kitchen, and  we didn't have to get rid of any of the cabinets.   They are all recovered with brand new custom sized doors.   We got all of our upgrades-
  • New Custom Cut Doors wrapping all gable ends of the cabinetry
  • A new 400 CFM Stove Fan
  • LED lighting throughout the pot lights and under the counter
  • New Satin Nickel Handles
  • Pearl Finish White Dove Paint

  • Island counter top is extended 10"  to accommodate a stool to sit

  • New Crown Molding throughout,  sprayed the same color as the cabinets

The glass back splash (being installed below) allows for nice reflection making the counter tops bright.   And easy to clean.   The grout is completely sealed.

The standalone cabinets beside the built in stove have their own light, and the cabinet gable beside the stove has the back splash extended to protect against cooking accidents.

6 Added Cabinets  above the desk area,  desk lighting, and a light valance.
Don't forget a Tablet Charging Station

  • 18 New drawers - Custom Sprayed,
  • Soft Close Blum Hinges Under mounted - and
  • a full extension to reach even the back of the drawer.
  • No more gaps between the drawers.

  • New Drawers in the Pantry  to hold the garbage bag boxes piled up at the bottom and reach them easily

  • The ceiling had 9 pot lights installed
  • 2 old light boxes removed
  • Removed a 4'  Ultraviolet ceiling box
  • Added 2 island Pendant Lights
  • Centered the Chandelier above the table.
  • 5 holes repaired
  • Skim coated to remove old paint roller marks,  and the original taping humps
  • 2 coats of primer
  • 2 coats of Zero Sheen Ultra Flat Ceiling paint

Lighting now has 6 adjustable zones instead of 2.

Counter top over the Peninsula was extended 8' for new stools

Simple Crown Molding 3 3/4"  down,   3 3/4" out,  never goes out of style and doesn't overpower a room with 8' ceilings.

Sprayed pearl finish
White Dove - Benjamin Moore

Benjamin Moore - White Diamond   is a nice contrast on the cabinets and reflects the original grey ceramic tiles without overpowering either of them.

New Dimmer Switches control light levels

Thankfully  there is no move to a new condo; the kitchen is updated without having to replace  the cabinetry itself.

Save the landfill, and save the pocketbook at the same time.
